Accounts Payable Coordinator

Team Overview

To support the business needs of Betenbough Companies through accounting principles that are beyond reproach and produce financial reports that enable the company to make informed business decisions.

Job Summary

Assist in all aspects of entering and paying invoices and helping to process credit card statements in a timely manor.  Act as a liaison between Betenbough Companies and outside vendors and suppliers.

Essential Job Functions

Accounts Payable:

  • Assist in entering all invoices into accounting system within 24 hours of receiving approval
  • Process employee matching contributions
  • Track trade loans and process credit memos, if applicable
  • Enter all utility bills within week of receiving them
  • Ensure that all Concur credit card transactions are coded correctly
  • Assist in processing approved referrals weekly
  • Answer questions from other departments and vendors about payment details or missed invoices
  • Explore ways to simplify and improve internal processes related to accounts payable


  • Assist with special seasonal projects, if needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • General understanding of GAAP Accounting Standards
  • Understanding of accrual process
  • Maintain professional skepticism on all transactions received and posted
  • Accounts payable experience
  • Be detail and task oriented
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Works in temperature-controlled environment
  • Vision for near, mid-range and far, as well as hearing for low, medium, and high pitch
  • Superior communication skills with co-workers, customers, trade partners and vendors
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance
  • Must be able to perform all job expectations safely with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds

Hours & Schedule

  • 40-45 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F)
  • After hours and weekends may be necessary on occasion for trips, events, or to meet deadlines
  • Lunch meetings and events outside of normal working hours are required
  • Occasional travel to other company regions or event locations is required
