Job Summary

Our company is on the hunt to fill an exciting and fun new role! We are looking for a talented and experienced Director of Sales to be the senior leader of our sales operations across our entire company (1300+ closings annually across multiple divisions). This will involve working alongside all of our regional sales teams and providing strategic vision to help them meet our sales and closing targets. You will also lead the charge in providing sales team members with ongoing training, leveraging both our in-house experts and world-class sales consultants. You will be a key member of our product development team, and be able to shape what we offer our customers, including look and feel of the homes, layouts, colors, materials, customizations, and community design, including layout and amenities like parks, walking trails, signage, etc. You would lead a small team directly, which includes our online sales team members and sales coaches, and you would have the opportunity to help those individuals grow and develop professionally, personally, and spiritually. This is a fun role that would collaborate across multiple teams in our company and be directly involved with several of the most exciting aspects of our business!

Essential Job Functions

  • Report directly to the Betenbough Homes president/CEO and serve as an integral part of the senior leadership team for Betenbough Homes
  • Responsible for company-wide sales operations across all divisions, including strategy, training, and meeting sales/closing targets
  • Collaborate with General Manager & Sales Manager in each division to create community-specific sales strategies (e.g. setting sales targets, spec. inventory, realtor/lender partnerships, researching how we compare in the market, adjusting prices, etc.)
  • Focus on providing a 5-star customer experience from visiting our website to the first contact through closing
  • Contribute to our product development team by researching and representing the views and perspective of our target demographic (i.e. women ages 21-54), being aware of popular residential trends and what customers are requesting from sales teams that we don’t currently offer
  • Help with overall community design, layout, amenities, and branding
  • Negotiate and direct our national sales training consultant to ensure all of our sales team members are properly trained and confident in our relational sales process
  • Orchestrate periodic “secret shops” and provide specific coaching on how team members can better implement our relational sales process
  • Maintain relationships with other builders to learn about new sales strategies and product ideas
  • Collaborate with our Director of Marketing and in-house marketing team, and provide overall direction and priorities for how our homes should be advertised and marketed
  • Assist regional teams in recruiting and selecting high-performing sales team members

  • Recommended Experience:
    • 5+ years of sales experience (preferably real estate related)
    • 5+ years of leadership (i.e. leading direct reports)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily works in a temperature-controlled environment, but outdoor job site visits required
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license, and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance
  • Vision for near, mid-range, and far, in addition to hearing for low, medium, and high pitch
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist, frequent walking on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, rock, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
  • Must be able to perform all job expectations safely with or without reasonable accommodations

Hours & Schedule

  • 50-55 hours/week, primarily Monday through Friday during typical business hours
  • Regular travel required to our regional offices (these trips almost never require an overnight stay, and can be made in a company vehicle)
  • After hours and weekends may be necessary on occasion for trips or special events
