As the mortgage operations manager, you understand the systems and processes needed for the entire loan cycle, meet all regulatory requirements, and build a talented team with a deep passion for mortgage who will serve customers with excellence. This leadership role will hire, train, develop, innovate, iterate, and drive their team to success!
Core Functions
- Monitor loan processing and underwriting by ensuring loans are processed and underwritten in a timely and accurate manner, following established documented workflow and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, etc.
- Manage loan pipelines to ensure loans are closed on time and that customers are kept informed throughout the process.
- Write and update quality control, underwriting, and other in-house lending policies.
- Keep up-to-date with industry changes such as regulation/lending requirements.
- Ensure each loan closes on time.
- Analyze current team structure and make adjustments to ensure each team member is in the best position for the business and team member.
- Seek innovative ways to get feedback from customers and create a game plan to address those areas.
- Engage deeply in our relational style of leadership through one-on-ones, training, shoulder-to-shoulder, and proactive development plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-10 years of mortgage experience specifically in origination, processing and underwriting.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Office environment.
- Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium and high pitch.
- Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
- Ability to lift 5 – 20 pounds.
Hours and Schedule
- Average 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F).
- Minimal travel required for company events and inter-region collaboration.
