Role Overview

The responsibility of the Design team is to support our field teams and be a driver of affordable and efficient home designs. As an Architecture Associate, your role is to understand and seek mastery of our processes while always seeking new ways to improve yourself and our teams.

Core Functions

  • Design
    • Develop Efficient and affordable home layouts.
    • Design Desirable and buildable fronts.
  • Refine
    • Work with builders on plan questions or issues.
    • Assist in run-throughs or fixing general errors to improve the accuracy of our plans.
    • Assist in creating faster processes or procedures.
  • Create
    • Craft comprehensive sets of construction documents.
    • Stage photo-realistic renderings of layouts and fronts.
    • Draw sketches and schematic designs for new products.
  • Improve
    • Gain mastery over our current systems so you can understand ways to improve it.
    • Implement changes that help improve the quality or efficiency of our products or processes.
  • Assist
    • Aid other team members in work or fill in when team members are gone.

Required Qualifications

  • Detailed personality
  • Experience in Revit
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Desire to serve others
  • Degree in a field related to Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Math, or Science

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced architecture, drafting, and/or home-building experience

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Variation of environments.
  • Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium and high pitch.
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
  • Frequent walking on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, rock, etc.).
  • Ability to navigate hazardous conditions such as frequent moving vehicles, construction equipment, and various construction materials.
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance.
  • Ability to lift 20 – 75 pounds.

Hours and Schedule

  • Average 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F).
  • Travel is occasionally required.
