Employee Benefits Specialist

Role Overview

Develop, implement and coordinate the administration of health and wellness benefits for employees and their families. Launch and lead open enrollment for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, leaves, and Kingdom-focused wellness initiatives in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment while providing excellent communication and customer service.

Core Functions

  • Strategically design, implement and administer benefits and wellness programs including open enrollment.
  • Actively engage and collaborate between Betenbough Companies and all external health insurance partners and vendors to serve and support our companies.
  • Respond to employees in a professional and timely manner with any health insurance-related information and inquiries.
  • Process all life change events and status changes related to health insurance, HSA, and other benefits.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality with all health insurance systems, processes and claims.
  • Maintain and deliver relevant data and reports for all health and wellness initiatives in order to equip senior leadership with key decision-making metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance, employee benefits, HR processes, etc.
  • Experience working with an insurance broker.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Office environment.
  • Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation; hearing for low, medium and high pitch.
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance.
  • Ability to lift 5-20 pounds.

Hours and Schedule

  • Average 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F).
  • Travel is occasionally required.
