Come and Go Prayer at Betenbough’s Home Office is a one-hour event held twice each month, hosted by the connections team. There is no agenda—it’s simply a space where team members can step away from their work to seek the Lord. You can pray with someone, pray alone, journal, worship, read, or just sit in silence and solitude. You can stay for as little or long as you like.
Jay Christiansen, connections specialist for Betenbough Business Services, is always available for prayer requests from those who cannot attend. But once you go in person, you’ll be drawn back.
The team has seen breakthroughs in marriages, finances, work roles, health issues, parenting struggles, and more. Some of the prayer requests are very private matters.
“EVERYTHING SAID IN THAT ROOM IS SAFE. THE CONNECTIONS TEAM TAKES THAT VERY SERIOUSLY. IT’S A SAFE SPACE TO COME WITH YOUR REAL PRAYER REQUESTS.”
– JAY CHRISTIANSEN
Arianna Richetti, hospitality coordinator for the Home Office, went to Come and Go Prayer to lift up her boyfriend who is young in his faith. She was nervous to talk about her request out loud, but Jay prayed for her in a way that, in her words, made her “feel the Lord tangibly.” In that prayer time, she was able to surrender the whole situation to God.
Clay Krieg, takeoff specialist for Betenbough Homes, is a regular at Come and Go Prayer. He has been through several transitions at Betenbough, and he feels strongly about leaning into prayer in those seasons. Before each interview, Clay went to Come and Go Prayer, and Jay prayed for him each time. Clay says, “It was helpful to have a neutral third party to talk about it with. It was good to have Jay in my court.”
One of Jay’s favorite things is to see people encounter Jesus, so he loves Come and Go Prayer whether he’s praying with someone or seeing them enjoy the quiet time. He says, “It’s always a blessing, whether ten people come or none.”
Seeing God answer those prayers is the most exciting part of it all.
Arianna shares that her boyfriend is making great strides in his curiosity about the Lord. He’s asking good questions and finding community in the church they’ve been attending. She’s so encouraged to see fruit in his life, and she firmly believes Come and Go Prayer was the starting point. The experience was impactful to her own life, as well. She reflects, “I found the courage to let someone else in on something that was hard to talk about. It helped me learn to trust others spiritually.”
Clay can look back and see that God was guiding his career journey. He shares, “The door was closed until it was open. Then it was instantly opened!” He describes his feelings about Come and Go Prayer by saying, “It has tremendous value.”
Whether you work at the Home Office or happen to be visiting on Come and Go Prayer day, you’re invited to stop by, enjoy the presence of the Lord, and bring your real prayer requests.
