Jeanna’s Wellness Journey

Jeanna Roach, CEO of Betenbough Companies, answered questions about her remarkable health journey in 2025. Her story is an example of transformation rooted in dependence on God, trust in her community, and intentional stewardship of her body, soul, and spirit. Take a look at what she shared, and be inspired!

Question: What health and wellness challenges were you facing at the beginning of this year?

Jeanna: At the end of 2024, I was at my wits’ end. We were in the middle of strategic planning for 2025, and we were doing it without Rick or Ron. I broke out in a rash all over my back and neck. I’d gained a bunch of weight that I couldn’t make sense of. My blood panel showed I was getting close to being pre-diabetic. I felt so stressed, and my mood wasn’t regulated. I started having night sweats. There were physical manifestations of something not being right with me and it was impacting every area of my life, honestly.

Question: How did Veritas support your wellness journey?

Jeanna: I have done the blood draws since we started offering them, but I was always overwhelmed by the results. I met with a wellness navigator from Veritas, and they explained how a lot of things on my blood panel were out of range. It felt like a mountain of things to work on, but I decided to just do one thing at a time. I learned not to chase quick fixes but to honor my body with consistency.

Question: What one thing did you change first?

Jeanna: The first thing I added was strength training. Once that became a habit, I added just one supplement — a multivitamin. That felt like a big step for someone who didn’t take anything. Then I added a probiotic, and next I started taking magnesium. That was a big help.

Question: So you were feeling better at that point?

Jeanna: Yes, I was a bit better, but I remained fatigued and didn’t lose weight. I was eating right and exercising, so it didn’t make sense. I talked to Cassie Aguilar on the Health and Wellness Team, and she was able to run a saliva test to check my hormone levels. Cassie explained the results, and then I discussed them with my doctor. As we moved forward with hormone replacement therapy, my body and mind started to get in better alignment.

Question: Now that Cassie isn’t on the team, can women still get help with their hormones?

Jeanna: Our Health and Wellness team will be focusing more on women’s health in 2026 because I am not alone in feeling these things! Kristin Tucker, health and wellness manager, is passionate about that subject. People can reach out to her with questions.

Question: You mentioned you were dealing with a lot of stress. How did the peace pillar play into all your physical symptoms?

Jeanna: I was spending time with the Lord. I was in the Word. I was doing all the things spiritually that I needed, but chemically, I was just off. Magnesium really helped with stress, which was a suggestion from my Veritas navigator. I saw just how God designed the body, mind, and spirit to be connected. You have to work on all to get results.

Question: How did you work on your movement pillar?

Jeanna: I needed a plan and accountability. Josh Amador, a Betenbough wellness guide, can help with both those things. I think you have to know what you need to be successful. I love a motivator, so I joined in when Amanda’s team did a step challenge. I started walking more and tracking it. The accountability wasn’t pressure; it was fun and felt like encouragement from people who want me to thrive. Now, moving my body is just a habit.

Question: You’ve been getting the blood draws for two years, so why did you start making changes this year?

Jeanna: It seemed like all the suggestions were more than I could do at first. It was this year that I realized I can do just one right thing. When that becomes a habit, I add another. Those decisions compound over time!

Question: What fruit have you seen from the resources you got from Veritas and the Betenbough Health and Wellness team?

Jeanna: I lost 25 pounds this year. I was always eating right, but working on my peace pillar, plus adding the supplements and the hormones, brought the breakthrough I needed. Amanda Bullen sent a screenshot of how I looked in a video from last year versus now, and I could see the drastic change that had occurred over the year. I compared my bloodwork from the first time we did the blood draw to now, two years later. Every single marker changed and came into the ideal range. And I feel good! That has been really powerful for me. I am a better wife, mom, friend, and leader when I am well.

Question: What wellness benefits do you think tend to get overlooked or undervalued?

Jeanna: Don’t miss the opportunity of having your blood work done. Then follow up with the Veritas wellness navigators so they can explain the results. As Rick always said, “The blood doesn’t lie!” Remember that we have an entire wellness team here at Betenbough with experience, knowledge, and drive. There’s no dumb question for them. Use that resource! Access to that team is so valuable. I admit I was a bit skeptical of this program early on. But now that I’ve been committed, I’m living proof that the program can be effective for people.

Question: What do you want to say to others who haven’t yet taken advantage of our health and wellness benefits?

Jeanna: Do it! If money is what’s stopping you from getting your blood drawn, I’ll personally pay for it. It has changed my life. When you’re healthy, you feel better and you walk with a different confidence and peace. Your work and home life get better. There’s not an ounce of shame with our health and wellness team. They all desire to help and serve you. They’re the best encouragers and will celebrate with you. Doesn’t everyone need someone like that? Sometimes people feel ashamed about health or weight issues, but you do not have to be scared to go to this group. They are in it with you! Rick would be really proud of what we’re all doing.
