Event Intern

Role Overview

Have ownership over specified events as the catering lead or coordination assistant. Responsible for delegating team tasks and creating great guest experiences while executing the event with team members.

Core Functions

  • Event Coordination: Open the facilities for weddings, assist the Lead Coordinator with rehearsals and day of coordination, setup ceremony and complete venue opening tasks. 
  • Event Lead: Preparation of events through layout, presets, decor, etc.; running small or internal events, running food for the buffet, barbacking, leading prep and closing tasks
  • Event Service: Welcome guests, servicing the buffet, servicing and bussing tables, bartending
  • Event Closer: Delegating the closing tasks with team members, resetting room, organizing storage areas and maintaining a high level of cleanliness
  • Administrative Items: Attend wedding tastings, complete inventory, assist with task list creation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Service industry experience preferred, but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Restaurant environment.
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
  • Ability to lift 5 – 20 pounds.

Hours and Schedule

  • Part-time 20 – 29 hours per week.
  • Days and weekends required.
  • Minimal travel for company events and inter-region collaboration.
