Event Manager

Role Overview

Lead and support the sales and banquet teams in efforts to increase sales, improve processes, create efficiencies and continue excellent guest service while building relationships with and growing team members.

Core Functions

  • Sales:
    • Seek ways to meet and exceed sales goals while maintaining excellent guest experiences through the sales and execution of events.
    • Create, monitor, track and bring accountability to sales team goals while coaching team on how to improve selling techniques.
  • Experience:
    • Oversee team throughout the planning, setup, coordination and execution of events.
    • Seek feedback from guests on event experience while creating and simplifying sales and event team processes to create procedures that help maintain a high level of efficiency.
  • Financials:
    • Oversight of the event and banquet department through focusing on labor costs, decreasing expenses, building revenue and maintaining acceptable profit margins.
  • Administrative:
    • Creating CMAs and assist implementing changes to event packages, menu selections, package inclusions to increase event sales and profit margins.
    • Hiring, training, and scheduling Event Team and Banquet Manager; monthly sales report.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management Experience.
  • Business Degree.
  • Event Experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Variation of environments.
  • Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium and high pitch.
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance.
  • Ability to lift 20 – 75 pounds.

Hours and Schedule

  • Average 40-45 hours per week.
  • Days and weekends required.
  • Saturdays required.
  • Minimal travel required for company events and inter-region collaboration.
