Role Overview
As a Dishwasher, you’ll be the backbone of our kitchen, working with integrity to keep all dishes, cookware, and tools impeccably clean and ready for service. You’ll maintain a safe, sanitary dish area in line with health-code standards, and, from time to time, you may assist with basic cooking and food-prep tasks as needed to support the culinary team.
Core Functions
- Dishwashing & Sanitizing: Operate commercial dish machines and hand-wash items (pots, pans, utensils, glassware) to chef-quality standards.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Keep sinks, counters, and floors around the Kitchen clean and dry; empty trash and recycling as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and clean dish machine and spray nozzles daily; report any malfunctions or repairs required.
- Supply Management: Monitor dish soap, sanitizer, and clean-up supply levels; restock cleaning chemicals and paper goods.
- Assist Prep & Service: Help with basic food prep tasks (peeling, chopping, batching ingredients)
- Sanitation Compliance: Follow all
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Food service background.
- Understanding of food service health standards.
- Proficient knife skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Kitchen role.
- Works in temperature-controlled environment.
- Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium and high pitch.
- Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
- Ability to lift 20 – 75 pounds.
Hours and Schedule
- Average 20-25 hours per week.
- Days and weekends required: Fridays & Saturdays required, occasional Sundays.
- Evening and night availability needed.
