“The corporation will demonstrate this purpose by raising people up to their God-given potential and enabling them to flourish spiritually, personally, and professionally. Also, the corporation will partner generously with other organizations that share a similar purpose. The corporation will focus upon its own employees and their families, upon the people with whom it has direct interactions, and upon the broader world. In carrying out its mission, profitability shall not be the sole factor in determining the goals and activities of the corporation."

--Betenbough Companies, PBC Articles of Incorporation

Hey Betenbough Family,

Welcome to 2023! Before we get too engaged in what is ahead for us, we should stop and thank God for 2022, so thank you, Lord! The quote above is straight out of our incorporation documents for Betenbough Companies, PBC and I thought some of you might not know that our Purpose is stated in our corporate documents for the State of Texas. As a reminder, most corporations have “profit” as their stated primary purpose. Therefore, for them, an annual report is really just financial statements. To be clear, we are a for-profit company as well. Profit is not evil or wrong. In fact, we need it to flourish. But it is not the highest pursuit for us. In fact, we believe that if our highest pursuit is for the people to flourish and for us to work together to that end, profit will be the natural fruit of those efforts!

Since we have a different purpose, even as a for-profit corporation, we have an Impact Report as our annual report. We have stated that we want to enable our people to flourish spiritually, personally, and professionally and our Impact Report exists to tell those stories. We want to make an impact!

And we have had impact. When we really care about each other and work together for everyone’s benefit, there will be impact. We have heard so many stories of impact and we selected a few to share with everyone and celebrate together.

As Dad and I have struggled with our health this past year, I want you to know that YOU have had a big impact on us! Your texts, calls, visits, and prayers have cheered us on, and encouraged us. We are so blessed to call you family and your love is healing for us!

We love you and thank God for you, and we pray this will be a blessed year for each one of you!
